SwingScape is an installation developed by Interactive Spaces Lab, in dialogue with Roskilde Festival and The Musicon Secretary in Roskilde and young people from the area.
PIXLpark were a interactive square build in the creative area Musicon in Roskilde with focus on movements and play through physical and digital elements. We contributed to the overall concept development of PIXLpark that were running for four years with interactive elements, movement, fun and exciting experiences.
PIXLSWING is an exiting interactive swing-installation with beautiful light and soundscape. When using the swing the users’ movements will change the light and sound of the installation. The installation consists of 10 swings, each activating a part a larger light and sound universe. There are 2 different light zones which are illuminated by different colors when it swings. The lightning in this setup plays a very important role, being the colorful living scenery in an overall gray and cold city. At the same time each zone activates a part of a larger sound universe. In the blue zone varying beats are activated and in the green zone melodies are activated. The audio experience is unique depending on which swing and lightzone you choose. If visitors in several zones are swinging, it creates a sonic harmony, which can be heard from all seats of the installation. PIXLSWING were already in use at the Ånd-og Vidensfestivalen in February 2010 and at Roskilde Festival July 2010 as a temporarily purpose. But when PIXLPARK opened in the fall 2011 it was adjusted a permanent context.
