With increased urbanization, there’s a need for cities and urban stakeholders to work towards a sustainable future with quality of life for all. Imposing climate changes require new collaborative models and community engagement.

The rapid development of technology enables cities to be connected in new ways, and through this we are facing new challenges to enhance civil engagement and improved urban life.

“Technology Is The Answer But What Was The Question?” (Cedric Price)

As technology becomes more human it may be able to do more and more to substitute for human relationships.

In relation to this, Interactive Spaces Urban Studio gathers architects, designers, engineers and IT specialists with the mission to create new meaningful concepts and solutions that can actually help bring people together, instead of replacing them.

New research shows that loneliness is a serious public-health problem, an epidemic, likening its impact on health to obesity or smoking 15 cigarettes per day.

We ask; how is it possible that we’re connected to so many, yet feel connected to so few?

We offer;

  • Interactive urban furniture, ready to install in your city
  • Digital datadriven tool to qualify urban development and help engage citizens in new ways
  • Unique site-specific solutions, developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Specialised guidance in regards to using and implementing digital technology in urban development

Interactive Spaces Studio is a part of the Alexandra Institute, a non-profit company with a mission to create value, growth and welfare in society. The Institute is one of Denmark’s seven members of GTS, a network of independent Danish research and technology organisations.
